Ant-Man andthe Wasp IMAX Trailer 2

Ant-Man and the Wasp Official Trailer

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP IMAX 3D

Funnier, more action packed and entertaining than its predecessor, Ant-Man and The Wasp is a sequel that raised the stakes of its 2015 predecessor while expanding the story in all the right places. Three years after the first film and two years after Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang is now a responsible father but is forced to stay on house arrest after helping Captain America fight Iron Man and the other faction of the Avengers during the Accords. He's suddenly forced to go back into becoming Ant-Man once again this time with the help of Hope Pym as the Wasp in order to save Hank's wife and Hope's long lost mother in the quantum realm, while they are being chased by Ava, who goes by the name of Ghost and is in a desperate situation to save her own skin and is slowly about to disintegrate. I just finished watching this film with my mom and I love every single moment of it. I not only enjoyed it over the first Ant-Man film but also it is better than Avengers Infinity War. If Avengers Infinity War broke our hearts, left us in tears and made us feel shattered. Ant-Man and The Wasp lighten our moods from start to finish. It’s great to see how the Marvel Cinematic Universe does a good job to balance the light and dark side of comics; from what I can tell, Ant-Man And The Wasp made us feel the joy and humor go back at us after Infinity War left us in tears.

This explains why I prefer Marvel over DC always. It’s nice to see what was going on with Ant-Man before Thanos vaporized half of humanity with just a snap of his finger and it answers the questions of his fate on why he did not show up in Infinity War but will appear in the upcoming follow-up next year. This movie does a job in explaining how sequels works and it is one of Marvel's best efforts since Black Panther, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War along with Spider-Man Homecoming. One of the film's highlights is its humor, which all the Marvel films are known for, in this sequel the humor is funnier than last time. There are loads of funny jokes that will make you laugh and are fun to listen to while trying not to over use it always in key scenes where important details are explained. The story is such a huge game changer from its predecessor. The CGI effects are just as fun as the action scenes. Meeting the returning characters is great and they are even more fun than before while also introducing new ones who are just as likable as the main characters and lastly, the film's true highlights are the characters of Luiz and Ava also known as Ghost. What this sequel did is that the filmmakers made him funnier than before and his role is bigger than in the last film not only in terms of his hilarious storytelling moments which the first film is known for but also how he plays a huge part on the heroes' quest.

On the other hand, Ava or Ghost is one of Marvel's best villains in the Phase Three films since Eric Killmonger from Black Panther, Adrian Toomes or The Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Helmut Zemo from Captain America: Civil War. What Marvel did here with their villain is that they made her not as a threatening type, but a more desperate type who has motivations for her actions and why she's doing it combined with a tragic backstory plus she's well portrayed by a talented and gorgeous actress at the same time. The acting is so spot on this time, it’s good to see the returning cast like Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily as the titular heroes. It’s also good to see Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and I'm surprised that his role is bigger here than in the previous film. The new cast like Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne as Janet Van Dyne and Goliath (Reference to Black Goliath) are both talented respectively. But the one who steals the show the most are Michael Pena as Luiz.

Michael Pena is funnier and believable in the best way here as he becomes the funniest character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Turk Barrett from the Marvel Netflix shows. Director and Writer Peyton Reed did a good job with his work on this movie and he actually did a much better job here by doubling the execution of this film from its predecessor, he really set Marvel's bar to the highest level that is a huge step from the previous films thanks to how he understands the formula of the Marvel movies, we get a sequel that expands everything in the best way.

Overall Ant-Man and The Wasp is an entertaining game changer that does a great job in making improvements from its 2015 predecessor while also keeping Marvel's bar to the top and acts as another fun entry in the long running Marvel Cinematic Universe. This movie gets a FULL PRICE rating!!! Now I want to see what happens next to our favorite heroes in the upcoming Avengers sequel.

The Equalizer 2 Trailer

EQUALIZER 2

The Equalizer 2 – the first sequel ever in the 63-year-old star’s career – the actor gets behind the wheel and picks up customers in the Boston area. God help you if you piss him off. Washington’s character, Robert McCall is still a retired special-ops agent hellbent on equalizing the criminal scum he encounters on his watch. His cover last time was a job at Home Depot, but the Lyft gig gives him access to the worst of people. Edward Woodward, who starred in the 1980s series on which The Equalizer is based, never got to lay on rough, R-rated justice like Denzel does. You’re probably thinking, isn’t the two-time Oscar winner punching below his weight in a vigilante movie? Yes. But nothing dims his star power.

With the return of director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), the sequel to the original 2014 thriller gives Washington a trusted collaborator. And with no need to lay the groundwork for the character like the first time, the sequel is faster on its feet than before. Yes, Richard Wenk’s threadbare script still insists on showing us McCall dispatch a few baddies just to give us a taste of his MO. There an opening scene on a train in Turkey in which the hero makes mincemeat of baby traffickers who’ve stolen a infant from her American mother. Bet on this fixer, who lives to help the helpless, to equalize the bastards.

This film is incredible!!! I went to see The Equalizer 2 over the weekend with my family, and we all loved it! While we were all fans of the original, this sequel improves upon its predecessor in every conceivable way.

The film picks up where the first one left off, with Robert McCall, played by Denzel Washington, having found his calling, and has now actively helping people in need. In an ingenuous twist by writer Richard Wenk, McCall now operates as a Lyft driver; it's the perfect cover, as it allows him to meet new people every day, learn about their problems, and help whenever he can.

Denzel Washington is stunning as Robert McCall. His reactions to the various people he drives in his cab are just incredible; whether it's a chatty old man, a soldier about to be deployed to Iraq, or a young woman who just got into her dream college. That is one of the things that makes this film special, and elevates it far beyond the typical action flick. In truth, it's not an action film at all: it's a drama. Does it contain jaw-dropping, violent action sequences? Absolutely. The opening on the train in Turkey is a stunner, as is a knife fight in a moving car, not to mention the epic finale in the middle of a hurricane. But this film doesn't need to rely on its action sequences. It takes the time to establish the characters, their backgrounds, their motivations, and to make us care about what happens to them. That's why Denzel Washington chose The Equalizer as the first sequel of his long career.

The relationships are the key to the success of this film. McCall and Susan (played by the excellent Melissa Leo) share a heartwarming friendship, but the standout is the one between McCall and Miles, played by Ashton Sanders of Moonlight, in an Oscar-worthy performance. Miles is a kid, an aspiring artist who lives in McCall's building, but is starting to fall in with the wrong crowd. Watching the rapport between the two is simply magical, and culminates in one of the most heartfelt, passionate, frightening and inspiring scenes I have seen in years. The audience was engaged throughout the entire movie; laughing and cheering and applauding, but that scene in particular left many, including myself, in tears. When the scene ended the entire audience applauded.

This is a true, dramatic film, and one that is filled with passionate performances, from Denzel Washington and Ashton Sanders, to Pedro Pascal, Melissa Leo and Bill Pullman. Richard Wenk deserves a special shout out for his terrific script, as does Antoine Fuqua for his pitch-perfect direction. Please treat yourselves and go see this movie. If you like action, and want to see Denzel take care of some bad guys, this is the movie for you. If you want excellent writing, and solid character development, this is the movie for you. And if you want superb performances by terrific actors, this is most definitely the movie for you. FULL PRICE rating!!!
